Allow computer access only during the time you specify

You're in control when you install Time Monitor. Using Time Monitor's Administrator program you create the access policies that determine who can log on to your machine and for how long. Limit computer use easily with the intuitive interface. You can limit computer time used per day with a simple drop down list that determines how many hours are allowed for that day. With Time Monitor you get greater flexibility in establishing time limits. Each logon account on your system has his or her own time schedule. No more fighting over who's turn it is on the computer! No more arguing about about how much time they get. When their time limit is up, they're logged out. Fair and simple.

Provide warning messages when computer time limit is ending

When their time is up Time Monitor will log them off the computer system. But before doing so, it will provide two warnings giving them plently of time to save what they're doing and finish up. In addition to the warning messages, two sound files will be played before being logged off - one at five minutes and again at one minute before logoff. You can even customize the sound messages by using your own recorded messages if you want. See the document Customizing Time Monitor Warning Sounds to get information on how to do this.

Force logoff at the designated time

Once their computer time limit has ended Time Monitor will automatically log them off the computer. The time limits you set for each user per day is followed rigorously by Time Monitor. You no longer have to "remind" them 20 times to get off the computer. Time Monitor will make sure that they do! And the warning messages they receive prior to being logged off provide plenty of time for them to save any changed documents.

Limit computer time to only so many hours per day

This feature allows you finer control of time limits than many other products on the market. You can configure Time Monitor to allow only so many hours per day. The access schedule you define is the time they are allowed to log on to the computer. The time limit is the amount of time, within that period, that they can be logged on. So, even if their schedule permits them to log on any time during the day they only have so many hours be on. Windows 7 and Vista parental controls do not have this capability!

Unique account settings for each child

Every member of your family that uses a computer has his or her own schedule. So you can create settings that are unique for everyone. This helps you control who can log on when and for how long. In effect, you can give one child a different time period than another child so there will be no arguments about who's turn it is to be on the computer. The fact that you can set time limits individually for each user and each day of the week for that user is what separates Time Monitor from the rest of the crowd.

Schedule time limits in 1/2 hour increments

Another unique feature of Time Monitor is that it is the only product that has 1/2 hour time periods and time limits. This feature gives you even more control over your computer. You can, for example, define a schedule allowing access to your computer from 7:30 am to 8:30pm but only allow 3 and 1/2 hours of total time. How many other products can do that?!

Disable an account to prevent access to the computer

Chores not getting done? Homework being neglected? Too much time being spent on the computer? Time Monitor provides a Disable Logon feature that prevents them from logging in at all. Sometimes you just have to put your foot down and get them doing the things they're supposed to. And perhaps even see the sunshine every now and again.

Restrict access to certain system tools

Windows comes with certain tools that should really only be used by the system administrator. These tools can affect how your system works and can be used to change system settings. Fortunately, Windows protects most of these settings using it's built in security. However there are some things better left unaccessible. The two features requiring additional protection are the Registry Editor and the Task Manager. Time Monitor prevents access to these tools by standard, or limited, accounts. Even if you don't know what these tools do chances are your teenagers do. Simply run the Time Monitor Administrator program and, from the main menu, go to Options->Settings and ensure that the check boxes for these tools are cleared and click the [OK] button.

Supports 32 & 64 bit Microsoft Windows 7, Vista, and XP

Time Monitor parental control software works with Windows by using the security features provided by the operating system. You do not need to configure or use a separate account or password to access Time Monitor like some of our competitors products. You simply log on using your Windows account and Time Monitor will recognize that you are an administrator (you are the administrator, right?). Only administrator accounts can run the Time Monitor Administrator program. Standard, or limited, accounts will receive a security warning message informing them they do not have access if they try to run the Time Monitor Administrator program.

Supports Microsoft Windows Fast User Switching

Time Monitor parental control software now includes support for Windows Fast User Switching technology. This feature allows your child to switch out to the main logon screen or lock his or her computer temporarily to do something away from the computer (chores, dinner, etc..) without having to logoff to save on their computer time. Time Monitor will note that their logon session is "on hold" and will stop counting minutes used until they log back on again. This featues enables your child to keep their homework assignment or research documents open until they return from doing whatever it is you want them to do. This is a win-win situation for both parent and child.

Administrator protection security features

Starting with Time Monitor v1.1.0 this feature will automatically deny access by all users to the Time Monitor Administrator program except the designated master administrator account. This feature allows, for example, your child to play their favorite game that requires administrator privileges in order to run yet still provide time limits on their computer use. A new feature added to Time Monitor v1.2.4 allows the parent to set a password for all Time Monitor administrator programs. These programs - Time Monitor Administrator, Setup, and Uninstall - will not run if the proper password has not been entered. Enable password protection if you suspect your child is logging on to your computer using your Windows account. Kids really will try anything to stay on the computer longer!
