Time Monitor enhancements

We are excited about our up and coming release of Time Monitor v1.2.2 as it contains quite a few enhancements that are sure to make our customers even more happy. These changes and additions to the Time Monitor programs provide increased assurance for downloading and running, improved install/uninstall functionality, additional features when creating time schedules, and improvements in our logon/logoff technology.

Now, when installing Time Monitor, users running Windows Vista and Windows 7 will notice our corporate name appearing in the User Account Control (UAC) dialog prompts. When you see Piranha Designs, LLC you can rest assured that the software package you downloaded is valid and has not been tampered with. When running the Time Monitor Administrator program the UAC will not longer show "Unknown Publisher" or give a warning about untrusted software. By digitally signing our software we provide confidence to our customers that our software is professionally developed, safe to execute, and virus free.

You will notice after installation that the Time Monitor Administrator program now has a program group contained within the Windows Start menu. This allows the computer administrator to configure a user's time while that user is currently logged on without the administrator having to logon seperately. Customers running Windows XP should right-click the Time Monitor Administrator menu selection and select "Run as Administrator" to make use of this feature. Windows Vista and Windows 7 customers can simply click the menu selection as Windows will automatically prompt for administrator credentials.

A new feature is the additional Edit menu option now available from the Time Monitor Administrator program. When you create a time schedule for one user and wish to apply that same schedule to multiple users simply select Edit->Copy from the main menu, select the next user from the UserName dropdown list ,and then Edit->Paste. Quick and easy!

New technology is now included that properly logs the user off even when using stubborn programs like online games. Certain games were preventing Time Monitor from logging the user off the computer. This issue has now been fixed.

Finally, customers have experienced issues relating to Windows time changes due to the computer synchronizing with an Internet time server. We now include an Advanced menu option that allows the customer to make changes to Time Monitor functionality with regards to time synchronization. We recommend enabling this feature as it ensures that your computer's time is correct. You can configure your computer to synchronize with an Internet time server either through the Option->Advanced menu selection or by using Windows Date and Time Control Panel applet.

In closing, we feel this is our best Time Monitor yet and invite you to download and install the program when it is released next week. A big thank you to our customers who have participated in the release candidate testing. Your feedback is invaluable!

Till next time...
